WCS Makes AP District Honor Roll

Published October 27, 2011

Williamson County Schools is one of only 367 school districts nationwide to be selected to the College Board's annual AP District Honor Roll.  The announcement was made October 26.  WCS was selected for this honor due to significant gains in Advanced Placement access and student performance.

"Our high schools have focused on increasing AP enrollment and have worked hard to provide more opportunities to more students," said Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney.  "I am proud that their efforts are being recognized."

The Advanced Placement program is a curriculum sponsored by the College Board that offers standardized courses to high school students that are generally recognized to be equivalent to undergraduate courses in college.  The courses are often credited with helping students prepare for the rigor of college level coursework.
