Teachers Prepare for Benchmark Tests
Published February 23, 2012
As the district prepares for the third round of benchmark tests for the year, teachers from around the county gathered this month to review potential benchmark assessment items for clarity, rigor and alignment to the district's scope and sequence.
Benchmark tests are formative assessments that help teachers measure a student's academic growth and mastery of the learning targets that are identified as essential in the scope and sequence. Teachers use the data from the benchmark tests to plan either remediation or enrichment for each student.
The third round of benchmark tests, which cover all content areas, will take place March 5-8.
