TCAP Writing Assessment Results

Parents of fifth, eighth and eleventh grade students should be on the lookout for the results of this year's TCAP Writing Assessment. The district will send home the individual student reports beginning Friday, May 11. A letter for parents will be included as well.

The TCAP Writing Assessment requires students to write a rough draft essay in response to an assigned topic within a limited time period. Fifth-grade students are asked to write a narrative essay, eighth-grade students an expository essay, and eleventh-grade students a persuasive essay.

The purpose of the TCAP Writing Assessment is to measure each student's progress toward achieving Tennessee goals and standards.
