Superior Awards of Excellence

Several Williamson County schools were recently honored at the First Annual WCS Superintendent's Banquet. The event was funded entirely by donations and took place Thursday, August 4 at the Embassy Suites in Cool Springs with the purpose of thanking administrators for their dedication to the students of Williamson County.
Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney handed out several awards, including the Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Achievement. This award was given to the elementary, middle and high schools with the highest overall achievement scores across all measurable categories during the 2010-11 school year. The recipients were Winstead Elementary, Brentwood Middle and Brentwood High.
Awards were also given to the elementary, middle and high schools with the highest academic growth scores during the 2010-11 school year. Those winners were Allendale Elementary, Fairview Middle and Franklin High.
