Students Bring Smiles to Elderly

Students at Sunset Middle School are making a difference in their community. Members of the school's National Junior Honor Society recently concluded their spring service project called Boxes of Love.
The project began with a school-wide donation drive to collect items like socks, slippers and toiletries. Members of the school's National Junior Honor Society then spent hours decorating shoe boxes, which they filled with the donated items.
On Saturday, February 11, the students traveled to the Claiborne and Hughes nursing home in Franklin where they entertained the residents with a variety show. Afterwards, the boys and girls wished each resident a Happy Valentine's Day as they hand-delivered the gift boxes.
