Independence High School's Kendall Barnett won first place in the 2011 TSSAA Women's Wrestling Invitational in the 138 pound weight class. Her coach is Jared Grindstaff. |

McCoy Newberg
Independence High School's McCoy Newberg won the 2011 Tennessee State Wrestling Championship in the 160 pound weight class. Newberg also received the tournament's Most Valuable Wrestler Award and is ranked #15 in the nation for his weight class. His coach is Jared Grindstaff. |
