Spring Hill Walkway to be Built
Published January 26, 2012
Walking to school could get a whole lot easier for students in Spring Hill with the approval of a new multi-use trail. Spring Hill Alderman Jonathan Duda says the city's request for an eight foot wide hike/bike trail leading to the Spring Station Middle and Summit High School campus has been approved by the Nashville area Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Once completed, the trail will stretch from Buckner Lane to the Summit High and Spring Station Middle School campus along Spring Station Drive. The project will also include a five foot wide concrete sidewalk on the west side of Buckner Lane to connect to the existing sidewalk in the Cherry Grove subdivision.
Spring Hill was awarded a grant for $56,151 to help pay for the project. There is no timetable yet for when it will be completed. Below is a map that shows the future location of the pathway.
