Special Ed. Evaluation Results
Published October 27, 2011
Last year, Williamson County Schools Student Support Services Department requested an “audit” or evaluation of their special education services. The district contracted with an outside agency using stimulus funds that were provided for special education.
The evaluation was conducted by The Urban Special Education Leadership Collaborative. The Urban Collaborative is a network of special education and general education leaders from across the nation. In order to complete their evaluation, the Urban Collaborative gathered information from key stakeholders across the district, reviewed a wide range of data, made site visits to several schools and solicited input from multiple focus groups.
The final report was presented to the Williamson County School Board October 13. This final Urban Collaborative report identifies district strengths and also provides recommendations for areas that can be improved upon. For those wishing to view the results, the evaluation is now available ONLINE.
