Ravenwood PTO Kicks Off Fundraising Campaign
Published July 19, 2012
The Ravenwood High School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) kicked off its fundraising campaign for a new field house July 18 with the announcement of a $50,000 donation.
Once completed, the field house will include locker rooms, a sports treatment room, a running track, a weight room and a wrestling room. It will be built adjacent to the football stadium and will serve as a multi-use facility, providing space for a wide variety of extracurricular activities—not just sports.
The field house will cost approximately $2.4 million to build and $600,000 to furnish, and all funds must be raised prior to the beginning of construction in accordance with the School Board mandate.
“The field house project will play a key role in continuing our legacy of excellent athletics at Ravenwood,” said Fundraising Chairman and Red Zone Club President Paul Jankowski. “We’re looking to partner with Brentwood-based companies in addition to private donations. Our first private donation of $50,000 gets the campaign off to a fantastic start.”
The PTO's goal is to raise all funds by this fall. Organizers hope to have the field house ready for the start of school in August 2013.
