Page High Receives Prestigious Award

Published June 28, 2012

Page High School has been selected as a national High Schools That Work (HSTW) Platinum High Achievement School.  This award is based on the success of school leaders and teachers in improving school practices and raising student achievement.  Page High is one of only 16 HSTW schools to receive the 2012 HSTW Platinum High Achievement Award.

"This is a true honor to be recognized nationally for academic achievement," said Principal Dr. Andrea Anthony.  "Our school will hold this title for two years until the next testing cycle with HSTW."

High Schools That Work is the nation's largest school improvement initiative for high school leaders and teachers. The organization provides schools with research-proven strategies that are designed to raise student achievement and graduation rates.

To be recognized as an HSTW Platinum High Achievement School, schools must meet a variety of criteria.  Platinum High Achievement schools deeply implement the HSTW design, teach students a rigorous academic curriculum linked to a program of study, have high student achievement and have a high graduation rate.
