Operation Gratitude
Published November 10, 2011
Students at Sunset Middle school offered up approximately 200 pounds of Halloween candy to show some "gratitude" to our troops overseas. It's all part of a program called Operation Gratitude which sends care packages to members of the U.S. military stationed overseas. Chris Powell, a paraprofessional and parent at Sunset Middle, spearheaded the school's participation in the program. Many of the students also enclosed hand-written cards expressing heartfelt thanks to our brave men and women serving in the military.
