New Additions to Scales
Published August 18, 2011
Students at Scales Elementary School in Brentwood will get to enjoy a few new features this year. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held August 16 for the school's updated nature trail. The project was completed by a group of boy scouts who are working toward their Eagle Scout badges. The new and improved nature trail features two bridges - one which was constructed out of recycled material - and a nature classroom which includes benches and a teacher podium.
In addition, kindergarten and first grade students will get to enjoy a brand new playground this year. Principal Rick West was joined by School Board member Susan Graham, County Commissioner Tom Bain and several members of the Scales Parent Teacher Organization for a ribbon cutting ceremony August 11.
