Longview Competes for $10,000

Longview Elementary School could win up to $10,000 to use toward its fitness program. The school was recently named a finalist in the Henkel Helps Get Kids Fit contest.
As part of the competition, Henkel Helps will award $30,000 to deserving schools that show how they get their students fit and active. Each finalist was asked to submit a two minute video which explains how they would spend the prize money.
"If we win, we'd like to use the money to purchase PE equipment that students could check out and take home," said Longview PE Teacher Robin Reding. "So we put together a video that kind of brings that idea to life."
Beginning October 31, people will be able to vote ONLINE for their favorite school video. The schools with the most votes between October 31 and November 20 will win. People can also sign up today to receive an email reminder when voting begins later this month.
