Local Teams Win State Titles

Several Williamson County schools will add some new hardware to their trophy case after winning state titles at this year's TSSAA Spring Fling. 

From tennis to track, Williamson County athletes made their presence felt at the annual high school state championships in Murfreesboro.  Below is a list of some of the teams and athletes that won state titles.

SOCCER
Brentwood Boys:  Defeated Collierville 1-0 to win the Class AAA Championship for the fourth time.
TENNIS
Brentwood Boys:  Defeated Knox West 4-0 to win the Class AAA Boys Championship.
Ravenwood Girls:  Defeated Dobyns-Bennett 4-0 to win the Class AAA Girls Championship.
Sean Karl, RHS:  Ravenwood junior Sean Karl won his third consecutive state tennis title.
Lauren Caballero & Iris Hao, RHS:  Ravenwood senior Lauren Caballero and junior Iris Hao won their third consecutive doubles title.
TRACK
Brentwood Boys:  The Bruins outscored Houston 74-42 for their third consecutive Class AAA state championship.
Eric Hoff, BHS: Brentwood athlete Eric Hoff broke the school record on his way to the state championship in the pole vault competition.  Hoff cleared a height of 15 feet 7 inches.
Jake Lazas, BHS:  Brentwood senior Jake Lazas won his second consecutive state decathlon title.  He also won first place in the long jump.
Amber Sudzius, BHS:  Brentwood student Amber Sudzius won first place in the girls discus competition.
Emanuel Hall, CHS: Centennial High freshman Emanuel Hall cleared 6 feet 8 inches to win the state championship in high jump.
Independence 4x800 Relay Team:  Won the state championship with a time of 7:56.80.
Elizabeth Kroeger, IHS: Won the 1600 meter race with a time of 5:02.
Geoff Nelson, RHS:  Won the 400 meter race with a time of 48.77.
