Fairview Middle School Assistant Principal Gary Shrader has been named Principal of Fairview Middle for the 2012-13 school year. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney made the announcement July 13. Shrader replaces Brian Bass who was named Middle College High Principal last month.
“Gary has been a part of the Fairview community for almost a decade,” said Looney. “He knows the students, their families and the business community well, and he will continue to build on the strong foundation in place at Fairview Middle.”
Shrader began his career in Williamson County Schools in 1986 as a math teacher and coach at Franklin High School. He has served as assistant principal at Fairview Middle since 2003.
“Fairview Middle has an outstanding tradition of success in academics, fine arts and athletics, and I am passionate about preparing our students for high school and beyond in both academics and character,” said Shrader. “The key to our success is the people. Fairview Middle has experienced, passionate, hardworking and dedicated teachers who truly care about our students, and our students continue to rise to any challenge that we put in front of them. The Fairview community is totally supportive of all schools and activities, and together we will build on the successes of Fairview Middle School.”
Shrader graduated from Franklin High School in 1982. He earned his Bachelor’s in Secondary Mathematics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and his Master’s in Educational Administration from Tennessee State University.
Shrader begins his new role immediately.
