CHS Wins Environmental Award
Published December 15, 2011
Students at Centennial High School can breathe easier knowing they're making a difference when it comes to the environment. On December 7, Centennial High was presented with an Outstanding Clean Air Partner Award by the Clean Air Partnership of Williamson and Rutherford Counties.
The students and staff at Centennial High are known for their commitment to environmental excellence. CHS is the only high school in the United States to be nominated and invited to join the Stewardship Action Council. Centennial is also the only high school in the state to achieve the Tennessee Pollution Prevention Partnership's "performer" level.
In addition, Centennial partners with Keep Williamson Beautiful and TSSAA in the Litter Free Event program by making all of the CHS home games litter free events, and the school's ecology and environmental classes perform community outreach by providing energy education and conservation awareness at events throughout the year.
