Centennial Students Lend a Helping Hand
Published December 1, 2011
Students at Centennial High School have found several ways to help out worthy causes this semester. In October, students raised money for the fight against breast cancer by selling t-shirts, collecting donations and organizing a penny war. On November 10, they presented a check for $2,400 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Centennial students also partnered with United Way this Thanksgiving by supporting the Full Tummies, Warm Hearts program. Students brought in everything needed for a Thanksgiving feast for approximately 44 families in Williamson County.
This is the second year that individual classrooms have taken on providing one or more baskets for families in need. All 67 baskets were filled with the traditional Thanksgiving dinner items as well as a gift card to purchase the turkey or ham.
