Bethesda Students Donate Money to School

Published September 1, 2011

Lemonade stands are fixtures of summer for some youngsters.  For a group of Bethesda Elementary students, they're also a way to raise money for a worthy cause.  Earlier this week, Madelyn Knight, Meredith Knight, McClain Atkinson and Brooklyn Atkinson presented Bethesda Elementary Principal Steve Fisher with $36 in cash.  The girls earned the money from a lemonade stand they operated over the weekend.

"We are so proud of these girls for their servant leadership roles," said Fisher.  "The $36 donated to our school will be used to purchase instructional materials and supplies for students who may not be able to afford them this school year."
