Pal Smith |
Congratulations to Centennial High School student Pal Smith for winning one of the Vernon Williams/John Patton Freedom Essay Scholarships given by The Sertoma Club of Nashville. Pal was presented with a $2,000 check to use for his college education and CHS was presented with a $100 check along with a framed copy of the Bill of Rights.

Congratulations to Centennial High School Senior Zach Whiteman for being awarded Clemson University's top academic scholarship. Whiteman was recently invited to join the Clemson University National Scholars Program, which includes a four year merit scholarship and educational enrichment opportunities valued at more than $170,000. |

Congratulations to Franklin High School Senior Matt Liso for receiving the 2011 United Way of Williamson County's Outstanding Youth Award. Matt has been actively associated with the United Way's Youth Advisory Council for four years and has served as a youth representative on the United Way's board of directors.

Congratulations to Franklin High School student Vikka Schweer for her performance at the regional National History Day Competition. Vikka won the Thaddeus M. Smith Award for Best Entry on African American History and first place in Individual Senior Documentaries. She will compete in the state National History Day Competition in April.

Congratulations to Ravenwood High School students Caitlin Boone, Lilly Reynolds and Lauren Duvall for advancing to the Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Competition. Duvall and Reynolds won first place at the regional competition in the Promote and Publicize FCCLA and Fashion Design categories respectively, while Boone finished second in the Recycle and Redesign category. |
