Christian Lavachek: Franklin High School Senior Christian Lavachek recently received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy Prep School in Newport, Rhode Island. Christian will enter the United States Naval Academy in July 2013. Upon graduation, Christian will be commissioned an ensign in the Navy and serve a five year commitment. Christian is the battalion commander of the JROTC battalion at Franklin High School. |

FHS JOBS Transition Class: Students in the Franklin High School JOBS Transition class participated in a Special Olympics Bowling Tournament October 7. John Snider and Joe Gilliam won first place ribbons. Sara James took second place, while Rachel Jones brought home a third place ribbon. Logan Mingle, Lydia Smith, Barry Long and Patrick Todd won blue ribbons for knocking down pins. |

FHS Marching Band: The Franklin High School Marching Band competed in the Bands of America Regional Championship in Jacksonville, Alabama. The band won the following awards: Superior Rating, Best General Effect in Class AAA, first place in Class AAA and third place overall. |

Rachel Finn, Sierra Campbell, Micki Dye, Kelsey Wilkes and Hannah Meenach were named to the All-Season Team. DJ Cherry, Kelsey Wilkes, Mickie Dye and Brittany O'Hanson were named to the All Tournament Team. |

Morgan Hunter: Ravenwood High School Junior Morgan Hunter won the Macy's Fashion Face-Off at the Mall at Green Hills. The contest was a timed event involving stylist work with Macy's garments and accessories. Morgan received a $100 gift card and pictures with first ever Project Runway winner Jay Carrolton. After graduation, Morgan plans to attend FIDM of Los Angeles, CA. |
