FHS Marching Band: The Franklin High School Marching Band placed second overall at the Columbia Invitational Marching Contest September 24. At the Bands of America Regional Championship, the FHS Marching Band placed first in Class AAA, won the award for Outstanding General Effect and placed third overall. |

Nick Lotz: Independence High School student Nick Lotz won the Outstanding Speaker Award in the Senate at the October Congressional Debate. Nick was voted the top speaker in his chamber. |
SPRING STATION MIDDLE SCHOOL |
Cross Country Team: Spring Station Middle School sent their top seven boys and girls to compete at the Middle School Cross Country Championship. The girls came in fourth place out of ten teams in the county. Top girl finishers for SSMS were Chandni Naidoo, Ashton Arnold, Emily Syzmanski, Caroline Patrick and Genna Ryan-Piasecki. Andrew Hendr and Esteban Remillard were the top finishers for the boys. |

Boys Tennis Team: The Woodland Middle School Boys Tennis Team recently finished as the Runner Up in the WMAA Division I Boys County Championship. Team members include Haynes Canupp, Takuya Sato, Erich Schumacher, Clay Lamb, Henrik Hahamyen, Connor Merrill, Ales Yates, Bryce Akridge, Connor Burnett, Stefan Antic, Adam Novak and Trey Caldwell. |
