FRANKLIN HIGH
Ashley Deperi:  Was named a finalist in the Anthem Essay Contest in which more than 15,000 students entered.
Brittany Faulman: Chosen to represent the City of Franklin as an exchange student in Carleton Place, Ontario.
Spencer Stolworthy:  Received one of the top 12 scholarships offered by the National Spanish Examination, a division of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.  Spencer scored in the 95th percentile on the level 5 exam. 

 

HUNTERS BEND ELEMENTARY
Hunters Bend Elementary finished among the Top 10 schools in a contest to win a visit by popular children's author and illustrator Jan Brett.  As a result, the school will receive a set of personally autographed books by the author.

PHS Teachers Michael Duplessis and James Cherry attend the HSTW Conference in Nashville.

Page High School teachers Michael Duplessis and James Cherry presented at the 25th annual High Schools That Work National Staff Development Conference in Nashville. 

Their sharing session, titled Bringing the Research Experience for Teachers into the Classroomdescribed their participation in a two year program through Vanderbilt University where teachers in math and science are placed in biomedical engineering labs to conduct research.  The teachers explained how classrooms can benefit from the  impact of real and current research in science classes.
