ACT Scores Released

Williamson County students continue to outperform their peers on the ACT test. The district posted an ACT composite score of 22.8 in 2011, which is well above the state average of 19.5. Williamson County Schools also outscored the National average by 1.7 points even though Nationally only the top 51 percent of students took the test.
Brentwood High School posted the highest average of any Williamson County high school by improving from a score of 25.3 in 2010 to 25.5 in 2011. Fairview, Franklin, Middle College and Ravenwood high schools also improved upon last year's scores.
"Our journey of progress continues," said Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney. "The efforts of our teachers, students and parents have better positioned WCS graduates to be successful in their post high school studies."
The charts below illustrate not only how Williamson County high schools performed on the 2011 ACT exam, but also how the district compares to other states across the nation.

The blue bars in the graph below represent the percentage of students participating in the ACT for the 10 top performing states in the country, the State of Tennessee, the national average, and WCS. As you can see from the blue bars, out of the top performing states none test all of their students.
