ACT Exam Preparation

Published February 9, 2012

All Williamson County high school juniors will take the ACT Exam Tuesday, March 20.  The ACT is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in English, math, reading and science.  ACT results are accepted by all 4-year colleges and universities in the nation.

With that in mind, it's important that students begin preparing for the test.  Two Williamson County educators have teamed up to make that process a whole lot easier.  Page High School Media Specialist Carlotta Wright and Independence High School Media Specialist Teresa Vaughn have made it possible for students to access ACT practice material through the Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL).  The TEL practice can be done by the student at any time and any location that has Internet access.

When it comes to taking the ACT, counselors say students who practice ahead of time typically to do the best.

“Providing practice in the ACT content and format is the best way to prepare for the ACT,” said Williamson County Schools Counseling Specialist Pamela Lankford.  “Practice reduces anxiety and increases confidence.”

You can access Student Internet Resources by following these steps:
