Annie Shackleford |
Grassland Elementary school chose fifth grade student Annie Shackleford to represent the school as their 2011-12 Academic All-Star. “Annie is always seen with a smile," said Principal Dr. Ann Gordon. "She has a positive attitude, amazing work ethic and is a friend to all.” Although she's excited to attend middle school in the fall, Annie says her time at Grassland Elementary has been an amazing experience. “The teachers here are wonderful," said Annie. "Everything about this school is great." |
Annie’s favorite class is her homeroom because her teacher is really nice. When she grows up, Annie wants to be a nurse like her mom. |

Emma Clifton |
Emma Clifton, a seventh grader at Grassland Middle School, was chosen to be her school's Academic All-Star for the 2011-12 school year. “She is always diligent about her work and continually strives to be the best student she can be,” said GMS Principal Lily Leffler. “It’s really fun,” Emma says about her school. “I like all the teachers and the curriculum.” |
Outside of school, Emma dances and has been part of the Grassland Middle School dance team. |
HERITAGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL | |
Tyler Clark |
Heritage Elementary School fifth grader Tyler Clark has been named his school’s Academic All-Star for the 2011-12 school year. “He's a great example for other students with his behavior and dedication to his studies," said Heritage Elementary School Teacher Tracey Ries. "He cares a great deal about the quality of his work and tries very hard to do his best.” Tyler’s favorite subject is math because he likes numbers and is good at adding. Outside of the classroom, he likes to play basketball and football with his friends. |
“I just enjoy being here at Heritage Elementary,” said Tyler. "I like all the teachers and my friends.” While Tyler admits to being a little nervous about going to Heritage Middle School next year, he says he's excited to try out for the boys’ basketball team. |
