EDMONDSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL | |
TJ Alexander |
Edmondson Elementary School fifth grader TJ Alexander has been named his school's Academic All-Star for the 2011-12 school year. Edmondson Principal Julie Sparrow says TJ is the perfect choice for this award because he always puts forth extreme effort both in and out of the classroom. "TJ has an incredible spirit and he consistently faces challenges with a positive attitude," said Sparrow. "This year he has gained confidence in himself and has shown unwavering determination to learn and be successful." |
TJ began attending Edmondson in first grade and says the teachers there are second to none. With their help, TJ has seen great improvement this year in his favorite subject: reading. "There are lots of teachers here to help you," said TJ. "If you have a question or need help with your work, there's always someone who can help you out." When he's not in school, TJ enjoys running. Whether he's jogging around the neighborhood or competing in the Williamson County Youth Track Club, TJ says running is definitely one of his favorite past times. TJ also has a love for animals which might one day lead to a career. "I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up," said TJ who has a pet dog at home named Cody. "He's half Poodle and half Cocker Spaniel. He's really cute." |
FAIRVIEW HIGH SCHOOL | |
Landon Hardison |
Landon Hardison was named Fairview High School's Academic All-Star for the 2011-12 school year. Landon was selected for this honor because of his hard work in the classroom and his generous attitude.
"Landon is one of the nicest and most respectful people I have ever met," said Fairview Principal Tony Donen. "Not only is he an excellent student but a fantastic person as well." Having been raised in Fairview, 17-year-old Landon says there's something special about the Fairview community and he feels fortunate to have attended Fairview High. |
"Fairview High is just a good learning setting because you know you're home here," said Landon. "It's a small school so everyone's kind of a close tight-knit family, and the teachers here are always looking out for your best interest." When he's not studying, Landon can be found participating in band, singing at church or working at a bowling pro shop. Having bowled multiple perfect games, Landon is serious when it comes to bowling and says it's one of his greatest passions in life. "I was part of the high school bowling team this year and we made it to State," said Landon. "I also travel a lot and compete in single tournaments for scholarship money. It's just something I love to do." Landon hopes to study business in college and says after graduation he might want to open his own bowling center or pro shop. "I just think something like that would be fun," said Landon. "I enjoy it so much; it would be almost like I'm not even working." |
