Winstead Wildcat Walk-A-Thon

Published October 14, 2010

Students at Winstead Elementary School laced up their running shoes and hit the pavement October 1 for the school's sixth annual Wildcat Walk-A-Thon.  The event is Winstead's only fundraiser of the year and raises thousands of dollars for the purchase of new technology.

In addition to raising money for the school, organizers say the Wildcat Walk-A-Thon is a great way to teach students about the importance of staying active.  "The students have a blast," said Winstead PTO Vice President Christine Frost.  "They get excited and they love to come out, get some exercise and just have fun."

The school should know by Friday, October 15 whether it reached its goal of raising $20,000.  Friday is the final turn-in date for all of the pledge forms.  Below are a few images from this year's Winstead Wildcat Walk-A-Thon.
