The Williamson County Adult Education program recently received a special honor. The Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE) named the program as one its 2010 Interest Award Winners during a ceremony February 23 in Franklin.
Through an annual evaluation and assessment process, TNCPE recognizes organizations that have achieved the highest standards of excellence in their operations and results. Recipients of Interest Level Recognition must complete a five page organizational profile and host a half-day education and evaluation site visit from a team of TNCPE examiners.
“This is more than a plaque on a boardroom wall," said TNCPE President and CEO Kathryn Rawls. "Pursuing a TNCPE award demonstrates that Williamson County Adult Education is adopting proven performance practices, principles, and strategies that nurture excellence in all aspects of business – from client relations to workforce development to results.”
The mission of the Williamson County Adult Education program is to provide educational opportunities to adult learners, ages 18 and older who are not enrolled in school. Williamson County Adult Education provides a diverse educational program which assists adult learners who choose to improve basic literacy skills, obtain their GED, enter post-secondary education, learn to speak English as a second language, or become better equipped to enter the workforce by improving job skills.
