WCS Teachers of the Year

Williamson County Schools honored its Teachers of the Year during a ceremony and reception February 8. Each school selected a teacher to be recognized, and from these, the district selected a system-wide Teacher of the Year at the elementary, middle and high school levels.

Scales Elementary School's Melissa Skinner was named Elementary Teacher of the Year. At the middle school level, Dr. Sandra Keown of Sunset was named Teacher of the Year, and at the high school level, Mark Baker of Brentwood was chosen for the top honor.

The system-wide Teachers of the Year were selected by committees with membership guidelines established by the State. They will be eligible to receive regional honors which will be announced in the spring. If they are selected in the region, they will be eligible for statewide honors. The State's Teachers of the Year will be announced in the fall.

Congratulations to all of Williamson County Schools 2010-2011 Teachers of the Year.
