WCS Maintenance Update

Published August 19, 2010

It has been another busy summer for the Williamson County Schools Maintenance Department.  Between May 22 and August 6, the Maintenance Department completed more than 1,600 work orders.

Among the projects, workers have installed and set-up five new portable classrooms at Independence High, Hillsboro K-8 and Trinity Elementary.  This includes preparing the site, putting in the sidewalks and electrical connections and placing furniture in the units.

They also prepared 16 portable classrooms to be returned to the vendor - a reflection of the new schools opening up this year. In all, the district now has 26 portables which are being used at schools across the county.

Some of the other projects that the Maintenance Department has been working on include: putting new roofs on Kenrose Elementary and Hillsboro K-8, placing new geothermal supported HVAC systems in two wings of Page High School, and installing new physical education lockers at Brentwood High, Page High, Grassland Middle, and Fairview Middle.
