Turning the Tide of Technology

Published March 17, 2011

Williamson County students who think they might one day like to work in the IT field have a great opportunity to learn networking skills at an upcoming event.  The Nashville Technology Council and the Student Congress will host Turning the Tide of Technology April 5.  The purpose of this student-only event is to teach young men and women about the growing importance of soft skills in IT.

Soft skills refer to a cluster of personal qualities, habits and attitudes that make someone a good employee.  Students who attend the April 5 event in Nashville will hear from two IT employees who have seen first-hand how important soft skills are in today’s IT environment.  Following the soft skills presentation and discussion, students will have the opportunity to network with several business leaders who will help them learn how to network.

Turning the Tide of Technology will be held April 5 from 5-7 p.m. at 105 Broadway, Suite 200 in downtown Nashville.  Students who are interested in attending the event must register ONLINE.  The Nashville Technology Council is working in partnership with the Williamson County Schools Career and Technical Education program.
