Teachers Earn National Board Certification

Published December 2, 2010

Seven Williamson County teachers recently earned National Board Certification.  National Board Certification is a voluntary process administered by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.  Candidates undergo a ten-part evaluation process specific to the teacher's discipline, including performance assessments of teaching strategies and written exercises to assess subject knowledge.

"We are so proud of these teachers," said WCS Professional Development Coordinator Laurette Carle.  "Each one devoted 200 to 300 hours to develop their teaching practice to the highest standards available.  National Board Certification recognizes these teachers for their deep commitment to students and their expertise at facilitating learning."
