TCAP Testing Underway
Published April 14, 2011
Thousands of Williamson County students in grades three through eight began taking the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program Achievement Test April 14. The TCAP exam is a timed, multiple choice test that measures skills in reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The TCAP testing window for Williamson County Schools runs through April 21.
The results of the TCAP test will be used to determine each student's learning path for the future school year. In addition, State law requires school districts to use a percentage of the TCAP score in each third through eighth grade student’s final grade. The Williamson County School Board has not determined the percentage to be used at this time but will be making that policy decision this spring. This new policy will go into effect in the 2011-12 school year.
