Scales Green Team
Published December 2, 2010
Students at Scales Elementary School are making a difference when it comes to protecting the environment. Several students recently formed their own Green Team to promote recycling and reduce waste. Members asked their fellow students to sign a pledge supporting the school's effort to reduce, reuse and recycle. Approximately 600 students signed the pledge agreeing to recycle and reuse paper in class, turn off lights whenever they leave an empty room and bring lunchboxes and reusable containers when they bring lunch to school. The pledge, which is pictured below, now hangs in the school cafeteria.
