Rezoning Update & FAQ's

The Williamson County School Board will meet in a special-called meeting Friday, October 1 at 5 p.m. to discuss the district-wide rezoning plan. The meeting will be held in the auditorium of the Williamson County Administrative Complex in Franklin. Board members will be given the results from a recent phone survey which asked parents to choose the rezoning plan they prefer. The survey took place Wednesday night; however a second callout will be made September 30 at 7 p.m. to parents who were unavailable to take the survey.
Many parents have questions regarding the rezoning process. Below is a list of frequently asked questions and answers which we hope you will find helpful.
REZONING FAQ'S
Question: What is the percentage of student split at Oak View Elementary School?
Answer: Twenty-seven percent of students are zoned to Heritage Middle School and seventy-three percent are zoned to Page in the WCS zoning proposal.
Question: How many students are impacted by WCS’ zoning proposal in comparison to Edulog’s proposal?
Answer: Edulog’s proposal would have rezoned 4,522 students, representing 14.5 percent of our 31,195 students. WCS proposal would reduce the number of students rezoned to 3,058, representing 9.8 percent of our students. Of this 3,058, 491 students are zoned to the new Summit High School, and 569 students are zoned to the new elementary school on the Breezeway property for a total of 1,060 students zoned to new schools. This leaves a total of 1,998 students proposed to be rezoned to existing schools.
Question: How many rising tenth graders are being impacted by rezoning?
Answer: There are 426 rising tenth graders impacted by rezoning, as follows:

Question: What percentage of Woodland Middle School students is remaining in the Ravenwood High School feeder pattern?
Answer: Approximately 80 percent of Woodland students will remain in the Woodland –Ravenwood feeder pattern and 20 percent will switch to the Woodland-Centennial feeder pattern.
Question: How many Ravenwood students are impacted by the alternate plan?
Answer: Eighty-two students would be rezoned to Page High School. Fifty-three of these 82 students currently attend Ravenwood High School. Forty-three of the 82 students would be eligible for grandfathering to continue at Ravenwood.
Question: How many high school students zoned for Page would be impacted by moving the west Page High School Boundary east to I-65?
Answer: With the alternate plan, 53 students would be allowed to remain at Independence High School thereby reducing the number of students being rezoned to Page High School to 37.
Question: How many rising tenth graders living in Sullivan Farms, Dallas Downs, and Polk Place currently attend Centennial High School.
Answer: 52
