Proposed School Calendar

Administrators, staff and representatives of the Williamson County Education Association have developed a proposed calendar for the 2011-2012 school year for consideration by the Williamson County Board of Education. The Board will discuss the proposed calendar during its work session Thursday night and is scheduled to vote on the calendar during the regular monthly meeting on Monday, November 15.

The proposed 2011-2012 school calendar is below:

Five (5) days are accumulated in this calendar through extended work (“stock-piled”) days for professional development. Three days must be scheduled by each teacher outside the calendar.

Other Site-Based Professional Development Days

Three days of staff development must be earned by each teacher outside the school calendar.  These days must be approved in advance by the local school principal, except when the workshop or training is sponsored by Williamson County Schools.  Attendance at meetings or to book fairs or events is not permissible.  Only trainings and workshops may be counted for staff development credit.

Parent-Teacher Conferences:   October 11, all teachers will be in Parent Teacher Conferences between 1 and 7 PM.  No school for students on this date. 

Snow Days:  Up to eight (8) snow days are accumulated in the school calendar through extended work (“stock-piled”) days and will not be made up.  If more than eight (8) days are missed due to weather-related conditions, each individual day will be made up at the end of the school year, or as decided by the Board of Education.
