Poster Contest Winners

Several Williamson County students put their artistic skills to the test by competing in this year's Williamson County Fair Poster Contest.

Williamson County Schools, in conjunction with the Williamson County Mayor's Office, asked students in grades 3-5 to design a poster advertising this year's county fair, which will be held August 5-13 at the Williamson County Ag Expo Park.

The students were told the poster should have a western theme since this year's fair has been dubbed the County Fair with a Western Flair.

Many colorful and imaginative posters were submitted and a panel of judges decided which were the best. The winners received prizes ranging from $25 to $5 as well as a free ticket to this year's fair. In addition, each poster will be put on display in downtown Franklin later this summer.

Upcoming Events

The Williamson County Fair will also hold two summer cooking contests for kids. The first one is called Kids in the Kitchen and is open to children ages 8-11. This contest will require contestants to prepare a sweet and savory dish from scratch.

The second competition is called Decorated Cakes. Participants ages 12-18 must construct a house, barn, tractor or any other item using at least three different Little Debbie Snack Cakes.

The judging for both contests will take place Wednesday, August 3. Additional details and rules will be made available in June.
