New Rezoning Proposal

Published October 28, 2010

The Williamson County Board of Education got a look at the latest zoning proposal at its regular monthly meeting October 25.  Select this LINK to view maps of the latest proposal and check your address and proposed zone through the Web Query.

An information session about the rezoning will be held Thursday, November 4 in the commons area of Franklin High School between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.  There will be no formal presentation, but there will be opportunities to view maps and meet with School Board members and staff members.  A special called meeting of the Board is scheduled for Monday, November 11 at 6 p.m. to discuss rezoning.  That meeting will be held in the Auditorium of the Administrative Complex.

Williamson County Schools also proposed an innovative program called 3 with me that's designed to make the rezoning process smoother for students.  Select this LINK to watch a video that explains how the program works.  Below you will find additional information about the 3 with Me program.

3 with Me

  • Next year’s high school students who are being rezoned will have a special opportunity to go to their newly zoned school with a group of their friends through the 3 with me program.
  • The program is designed to help high school students make a smooth transition from the current school to their newly zoned school.
  • Up to three friends of a student who is getting rezoned may attend the new school with parent permission.
  • The school district will guarantee that the four students will have homeroom and lunch together, and the students have the opportunity to have more classes together if they take the same ones.
  • Transition support and peer mentoring will be offered by students at the new school.
  • Bus transportation will be provided from the rezoned student’s home for that student and his 3 with me friends.
  • The completion of special paperwork will be required.
  • Participating students must be from the rezoned student’s current school zone.
  • Students eligible include those being rezoned from:
