IHS Students Collect Toys for Needy

Published December 16, 2010

Students at Independence High School collected a record amount of toys this year for the school's annual Skills USA Toy Drive.

Each year, classes compete to see which one can collect the most toys. The toys are then given to Nashville Family Church which distributes them to needy families in Williamson County.

Students at IHS demonstrated their generosity this year as they collected 2,071 toys, easily eclipsing last year's total of 1,554.

Since its inception in 2004, the Skills USA Toy Drive at Independence has brought in 6,796 toys for children across the county.
