FHS Project Graduation Sponsors

Published April 28, 2011

In a few short weeks, the Franklin High School Class of 2011 will celebrate their accomplishments at Project Graduation. This annual event is part of a nationwide movement initiated by the Mothers Against Drunk Driving organization and gives graduates a fun - and safe - way to celebrate their commencement night.

The senior celebration would not be possible if it were not for the generous contributions from Franklin High School parents and area businesses. Among the sponsors is Whole Foods, which will team up with Franklin High School Culinary Arts Teacher Charles Gillespie to prepare the event's midnight buffet. The menu will include everything from wings and pizzas, to veggie wraps and side salads. Whole Foods will also donate hundreds of bottles of water and soft drinks for the celebration.

In addition to all the wonderful food, graduates will get a chance to win numerous prizes courtesy of Allstate Insurance. The prizes include digital cameras, laptop computers, TV’s, gaming systems and prizes for dorm and apartment living.

“We support programs that give us a way to help steer teenagers in the right direction when it comes to driving," said April Eaton, Senior Corporate Relations Manager with Allstate Insurance Company. “We hope our donation will help the graduates celebrate their achievement in a safe way.”

Other major sponsors include Allegra Print and Imaging which printed invitations for every FHS senior and Allstate Branscome-Pharis Insurance and Financial Services which will provide every Project Graduation attendee with a free custom printed backpack.

This year's event will begin May 29 at 10:30 p.m. and end at 5 a.m. the next morning. More information about Project Graduation can be found by going to their website at http://www.wcs.edu/fhs/ParentAssociation/projectgrad/Projectgraduation.htm or by contacting Gail Chiaravalle at 791-5508.
