Community Meetings Scheduled
Published August 4, 2010
As the new school year begins, Williamson County Schools is continuing its strategic planning process. Parents and community members are invited to participate in one of five sessions that have been scheduled across the county.
Participants will meet in small groups so their input can be gathered and shared with the Williamson County Board of Education. The strategic planning process is being facilitated by Gary Minor. “By using this small group process, we can capture the thoughts and priorities of everyone who attends any of the meetings, ensuring we have the broadest possible input, as we chart the course of our school system for the next seven years,” said Minor.
Topics to be discussed include Finance; Student Programs to include Academics, Arts and Athletics; Growth Planning/Zoning; Technology; and Teacher Quality.
“Input from parents and community members is vital to the process, so we have scheduled meetings across the county in an effort to get as much participation and input as possible,” said Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney. “We hope that anyone who is interested can find a time to participate in the process.”
The meetings will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on the following dates:
-
Tuesday, August 17 at Centennial High
-
Wednesday, August 18 at Fairview High and at Brentwood High
-
Thursday, August 19 at Spring Station Middle and at Page High
