Child Prodigy to Perform with BHS Band

Published March 3, 2011

Ten year old child prodigy Geoff Gallante will perform this month with the Brentwood High School Wind Ensemble. Gallante began playing the trumpet at the age of four. Since then, he has wowed audiences with his amazing ability while performing for crowds at stadiums, concert halls and even the White House.

In addition to appearances on the Today Show and the Tonight Show, Gallante has played alongside some of the top trumpet luminaries in the world including Wynton Marsalis, Maynard Ferguson and Chris Botti. He has also performed the national anthem in 15 professional sports venues across the country.

Brentwood High School Band Director Randy Box says he's glad his students will have the opportunity to play alongside someone who has accomplished so much at such a young age. "We are really looking forward to having him perform with us," said Box. "He's only 10, but he already has an impressive resume of performances and credits."

Gallante will be the guest soloist at the Brentwood High School Wind Ensemble Concert March 10. The performance will begin at 7 p.m. in the Campbell Center Auditorium.
