Change in School Volunteer Fingerprinting Hours

Published September 30, 2010

Williamson County Schools is known for its excellent volunteers and more than 3,000 of them have undergone background checks in the last five months. The district began the process of performing criminal background fingerprint checks in April as part of an effort to better protect students.

According to the guideline, volunteers who have unsupervised contact with students on or off campus must complete a criminal background fingerprint check by the Williamson County Human Resources Department or present the school with a copy of a background check report conducted by another provider.

Beginning Friday, October 1 the Williamson County Schools Human Resources Department will no longer fingerprint volunteers on Mondays and Fridays. The district will continue to fingerprint volunteers only between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
