HOT SHOTS JUMPROPE TEAM

The Hot Shots Jumprope Team:  Competed this spring at the USA and AAU Jumprope Regionals held in Bowling Green, KY and at Franklin High School.  The team, which is comprised of third through ninth graders from Hunters Bend Elementary, Grassland Middle and Franklin High, qualified to compete at the USA nationals in Galveston, TX and the AAU Junior Olympics in New Orleans this summer.  They will compete in single rope speed, freestyle, and Double Dutch.

 

BETHESDA ELEMENTARY
John Michael Cox:  Was named Bethesda Elementary School's the top reader for the 2010-11 school year with 547 Accelerated Reading points.

Logan Cozzie & Berkley Rodgers:  Won First Place in their Region at the 4H Presentation competition.

 



BRENTWOOD MIDDLE

Hannah Oakley:  Won the Junior American Citizens poetry contest with the topic Preserving America's Past for the middle school, the state and won second in the nation.



FAIRVIEW MIDDLE

The Fairview Middle Chamber Singers:  Received a superior rating, second place at the 2011 Dollywood Festival.  The Women's Chorus received also received a superior rating, second place. 

 

FRANKLIN HIGH

Dalton Lentz:  Tennessee House Representative Charles Sargent drafted a resolution commending Dalton for his academic excellence at Franklin High.  The resolution was read May 18 at the State Capitol.



INDEPENDENCE HIGH

The Declaration Singers:  Won first place in the Show Choir Division at the Music Festival's Showcase Competition in Atlanta.  The Declaration Singers won the overall Grand Championship Award to beat all the other Vocal Ensembles that competed.  Rachel Maupin won the Outstanding Soprano Soloist Award and Joseph Carter won the Outstanding Bass Soloist Award.



SPRING STATION MIDDLE

Austin Johns:  Named to the WMAA All Tournament Team for baseball.  Austin scored the first homerun in Spring Station Middle School history when he hit a grand slam against Hillsboro.

 

WOODLAND MIDDLE
Zach Allegra:  Recipient of the James C. Parker Service Award at Woodland Middle School's Eighth Grade Recognition Ceremony.
McKenzie Atwood:  Recipient of the PCF Fine Arts Award at Woodland Middle School's Eighth Grade Recognition Ceremony.
Gabby Dent:  Received the MJP Citizenship Award at Woodland Middle School's Eighth Grade Recognition Ceremony.
Reighan Diehl:  Received the Woodland Middle School Student Library Assistant Award.  Reighan volunteered as a library student worker for all three years that she attended Woodland.

Sabrina Florey:  Recipient of the Woodland Middle School Athlete Scholar of the Year Award.

 

Christian Leve:  Received the James C. Parker Sevice Award during the Eighth Grade Recognition Ceremony at Woodland Middle School.
Gene Li:  Recipient of the James C. Parker Service Award at Woodland Middle School's Eighth Grade Recognition Ceremony.
Branton Matheus:  Received the James C. Parker Sevice Award during the Eighth Grade Recognition Ceremony at Woodland Middle School.
Stephen Nash:  Recipient of the Woodland Middle School Athlete Scholar of the Year Award.
Gracen Woods:  Recipient of the Christy Walsh Spirit Award at Woodland Middle School's Eighth Grade Recognition Ceremony.
