BRENTWOOD HIGH SCHOOL

Eric Donahue:  Named a semi-finalist for the Presidential Scholars Program.  Approximately 560 students nationwide are chosen for this distinction based on their superior achievements, leadership qualities, personal character and involvement in community and school activities.

 

 

FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL

Dalton Lentz:  Awarded a full scholarship to attend the 2011 Adventures of the Mind Summit in Missoula, Montana. The event brings 150 of the nation's top students together for a mentoring summit with 50 Nobel, Pulitzer and MacArthur fellows.  This year's summit will take place June 23-26.

 

HERITAGE MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE TEAM

The Heritage Middle School Dance Team won first place at the ShowStoppers Regional Dance Competition on April 30 at MTSU.  Dancers include Cheyenne Waugh, Gillian Lozak, Greta Heinzelman, Jenna Betancourt, Katie Kane, Kirsten Fite, Madi McGaw, Mckayla Carson, McKenzie Allen, Morgan King, Mykah Farren, Sabrina Smith and Sophi Falcone.  The coaches are Tricia Doyle and Sarah Fischer.

 

SPRING STATION MIDDLE SCHOOL

Caroline Patrick:  Was the first Spring Station Middle School athlete to be selected to the WMAA All-Tournament team. She was also a WMAA Miss Basketball Finalist for Varsity Basketball as a seventh grader and was honored as the team's offensive MVP.

 

SUNSET MIDDLE SOFTBALL TEAM

The Sunset Middle School Softball Team won first place in the WMAA Tournament, defeating Woodland Middle School in the championship game.  Team members include Shauna Blady, Kristen Elliot, Julia Gentile, Maria Gentile, Courtney Hall, Claire Hensley, Genna Herman, Jessica Howard, Abby Irwin, Sydney Jackson, Ivey Johnson, Autumn Ogletree, Mayci Rawls and Kendall Shelton.  Their coaches are Christina Carlson, Chuck Mashburn and Shelby Mashburn.



WMAA ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

Fourteen Williamson County middle school students were chosen for the WMAA All-Tournament Softball Team, including those pictured above.  Members of the All-Tournament Team include Lauren Dencker (Brentwood), Lauren Fredette (Heritage), Kasey Turner (Spring Station), Kendall Carter (Page), Chloe Condo (Page), Maddie Collins (Grassland), Jodi Hill (Grassland), Lauren Myers (Woodland), Jordan Taylor (Woodland), Carlie Cantrell (Woodland), Abby Irwin (Sunset), Macey Rawls (Sunset), Autumn Ogletree (Sunset) and Kristin Elliot (Sunset).



PREEMPTORS YOUTH FIFE AND DRUM CORPS

Members of the Preemptors Youth Fife and Drum Corps were awarded the Good Citizenship Medal by the Cumberland Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  This award is given to patriotic or service groups whose membership exhibits the qualities of honor, service, courage, leadership and patriotism.  Pictured above are Preemptors Fife and Drum Corps Director Joe Smith, Centennial High student Rachel Alexander, Franklin High student Davis Robinson, Franklin High student Jackie Scobey, Franklin High student Marjory Day and Cumberland Chapter DAR Regent Emily Robinson.
