Several members of the Hot Shots Jumprope Team recently returned from the AAU Jr. Olympics Jumprope Championship. The team, which is comprised of students from both Hunters Bend and Grassland elementary schools, competed against hundreds of jumpers from the United States, Canada, Australia and China. Some of the local winners included:
Jack Heimendinger - Silver medal for Speed, seventh place for Freestyle, fourth place in Power and fifth place overall in the 9-10 age group.
Jacob Ferguson - Sixth place for Speed, tenth place for Freestyle, third place in Power and sixth place overall in the 11-12 age group.
Shelby and Jacob Ferguson - Thirteenth in Pairs Freestyle, eleventh place in Speed in the 13-14 age group.
Kathryn Hallock and Ashley Vance - Sixth place in Speed and twelfth place in Pairs Freestyle in the 13-14 age group.
Brooke Harden and Alexis Burgos - Eleventh place in Pairs Freestyle.
Sarah Harden and Jack Heimendinger - Tenth place in Pairs Speed in the 9-10 age group.
Selah Prater and McCallie Miller - Ninth place in Pairs Speed.
