ACT Test set for March 15
Published March 3, 2011
High school juniors will be put to the test this month when they take the ACT exam. The ACT is the nation's most widely accepted college entrance exam and will be given to all eleventh grade students in Tennessee public high schools Tuesday, March 15. The exam is a graduation requirement for Williamson County students and is comprised of four subject tests which assess English, math, reading and science knowledge.
All Williamson County juniors will automatically be registered for the test and there is no fee. For all other test dates besides March 15, students must register on their own and pay for the test.
Students will be required to follow a number of rules on test day:
-
No food or drink, including water, will be allowed in the testing rooms.
-
If a student's cell phone goes off during the exam, that student will be dismissed and his/her test nullified.
-
Calculators are permitted on the mathematics section of the ACT exam, however students must bring their own and they must be approved. You can find out which calculators will be accepted by going to the FAQ SECTION of the ACT website.
Test results will be mailed to students' homes within three to eight weeks. Practice resources and sample questions for the ACT exam can be found by visiting the ACT WEBSITE.
