WCS Maintenance Update
Published July 30, 2009
Across the district, the Williamson County Schools Maintenance Department is hard at work preparing each school for the first day of class. Whether they're adding roofs, painting walls or replacing carpets, the district's maintenance team is staying busy. In fact, between May 24 and July 23 the maintenance department completed more than 1,500 work orders.
Among the projects, workers have installed and set-up 18 new portable classrooms at
schools across the district. This includes preparing the site, putting in the sidewalks and electrical connections and placing furniture in the units. In all, the district now has 47 portables which are being used at schools countywide.
Some of the other projects that the maintenance department has been working on include reconstructing the running tracks at Brentwood High and Centennial High; replacing the emergency generators at Fairview High and Fairview Middle; and putting new roofs on Edmondson Elementary and Hunters Bend Elementary. Crews also replaced portions of the roof at Page High School.
