State Report Praises WCS

Published August 12, 2009

A statewide education report recently praised Williamson County Schools for its efforts to prepare students and parents for new high school graduation requirements.  The State Collaborative on Reforming Education, or SCORE report, commended a video the district developed which explained the new requirements of the Tennessee Diploma Project.  The videos are a joint effort of the Teaching, Learning and Assessment and Communication departments.

The video walks students and parents through the new graduation requirements and explains what will be expected of students to graduate from high school by 2013 and beyond. In addition to distributing DVD copies of the video to more than 5,000 seventh and eighth grade students, the district added a section to its website which provides detailed information regarding the Tennessee Diploma Project.
