Schools set to Launch Online Payment System
Published January 21, 2010
Starting next month, the parents of students at three Williamson County Schools will be able to pay for their child's lunch online. The WCS Food Service Department plans to launch its new online payment system February 1 at Grassland, Hunters Bend and Walnut Grove elementary schools. The system will expand to include all 37 schools in the district by April 1.
"This is going to be huge," said WCS Food Service Director James Remete. "The new payment service will allow parents to pay for meals online rather than sending cash or checks to the school with their children.”
That means parents will be able to manage the entire family’s school lunch accounts from their home or office and view their child’s eating history online. In addition, parents can choose to receive an e-mail alert when their child’s account balance reaches a certain level.
"This will provide parents with a convenient, easy and secure online service to manage their child's lunch account," said Remete. "They will have the ability to deposit money into their child's account through a website called MyNutrikids.com. They will also have the ability to print off a copy of their child's eating history report."
